It is sometimes good to see that companies like Xolo still care about the devices they have released already and are still committed to providing Android OS updates unlike other Indian OEMs like Micromax, Lenovo or whatsoever it may be. Xolo has started rolling out Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update for the Q800 just few hours back and you should have received a notification on your handset regarding this. Needless to say, custom ROM users might not get it however if you roll back to stock Android 4.1, you may see this notification.
Xolo Q800 is the company’s first quad-core device with 4.5 inch qHD IPS screen display and powered by a 1.2 GHz quad core MediaTek MT6589M processor coupled with 1 GB RAM. The device’s hardware is good enough to make this Android 4.2 update smoothly, however it also depends on how the OEM has bloated it. In case your device is already rooted, you will have to root it once again to get rid of the bloat.
Since the update rolled out just few hours back, we do not have a direct link for you to download the update on your PC. You can try connecting your device to a strong Wi-Fi network and check for OTA updates by going to Settings>About phone and tap on check for software updates.
That said, there is no information from the company about the changelog, but users who have updated the device talk about some new notification toggles, daydream screen saver mode and performance improvements that come with this update.
