A few weeks back, Google announced Android Wear 2.0. It was first introduced with the LG Watch Sport and LG Watch Style. Eventually, it will come to other smartwatches including ASUS ZenWatch 2 and ZenWatch 3.
Earlier this month, ASUS confirmed that the ZenWatch 2 and 3 will get Android Wear 2.0. However, it seems like it’s going to be a while before the update rolls out to the company’s smartwatches. In response to a user’s question on twitter, ASUS North America said that the ZenWatch 2 and 3 will get Android Wear 2.0 in early Q2.
@jclendineng Hey Joel — the Android Wear 2.0 roll-out start date was last week, however, AW 2.0 will not come to the ZW 2/3 till early Q2.

“Q2” implies April 1 to June 30. This means that users ought to get the update around late April to early May if things go as planned.
If you are an owner of the ZenWatch 2 or 3, you have quite a bit to look forward to. The update will bring a bunch of new features including standalone apps, smarter watch faces, and Google Assistant that will let you interact with your watch with voice commands.
