ASUS announces the ZenWatch 3, a customizable wearable device powered by Android Wear. The ZenWatch features a fully customizable round case along with two strap variants: Leather and Rubber. Under the hood, the ZenWatch 3 is powered Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor which is specifically designed with Android Wear in mind. It also includes Activity Tracking to keep you motivated to get out and exercise more along with a whole slew of fitness apps. Furthermore, ASUS also touts their HyperCharge technology provides 60% of charge in just 15 minutes.
The ASUS ZenWatch 3 is based on a stainless steel build with two different finishes: Gunmetal and Silver. The watch’s case comes in just shy of 9.95mm thick along with three crown buttons flanking it.
The display is a 1.39 inch AMOLED display with the resolution of 400×400. This means it comes in at 287PPI density which makes for sharp screen along with the battery efficient AMOLED display. All this is protected by a 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass which slightly curves to the corners, providing a premium finish. The straps choices include stitched Italian leather or high-quality rubber.
The ZenWatch 3 provides a whole slew of options to customize its watch face and crown button. It comes with 50+ software watch faces which can be changed to go with you mood, style and these can be changed using the ZenWatch smartphone app. These watch faces in turn include widget-like sections which can display useful metadata such as the Step Count, Weather, Notifications. ASUS is also releasing their FaceDesigner app which will let users create their own watch face from scratch, truly setting it apart from all other watch faces.
The top crown button can be customized to perform the action of your choice, such as opening voice search, starting an app etc.
Activity and Fitness tracking
The ZenWatch 3 is a fully featured fitness tracker under the hood. ASUS boasts 95% accuracy in step count using their brand new ZenFit app which tracks the users movements throughout the day. It also supports a range of other physical activities like running, push-ups, sit-ups. Using the smartphone app, it provides a clean and helpful graphs and summaries. This can help to motivate yourself towards your fitness goals.
Sweat and storms should be no problem as the ZenWatch 3 is IP67 Water Resistant and can be worn at all times.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear is designed for power efficiency. ASUS claims that the device can last up to 2 days before needing a charge. It also features ASUS’s HyperCharge technology which provides 60% of charge in just 15 minutes. It connects using a magnetic connector which automatically snaps into place. An optional battery pack providing 40% more battery will also be made available.

The ZenWatch 3 will be available in 3 variants, namely:

- Silver – Rubber Strap – Beige – Rs. 17599
- Gunmetal – Leather Strap – Dark Brown – Rs. 18999
The Gunmetal/Rubber Strap variant will be available starting January 2017 and the Silver/Rubber Strap and Gunmetal/Leather Strap will be open for preorders on 23 December, 2016.
