BBM For Android Will Be Live In Google Play Store Today

Update: BBM for Android is now available on the Play Store. Download it from the link at the end of this post.

BBM for Android is finally here, and it really is unlike what happened on September 21. Today, you will be able to download BBM for Android from Google Play Store but not use it as soon as you have installed the app.

It has been around a month back when we leaked an APK of BBM for Android. The leaked APK though was not the final version of the app that BlackBerry wished to roll out as it had some bugs in it. However, the craze of using BBM on a cross-platform device rose out well and led to more than 1 million installs of the leaked APK within 7 hours after which BlackBerry decided to shut down the service from their end leaving the APK useless.

Today, BlackBerry is ready to roll out the app on Google Play Store but users may not be able to use it as soon as they have installed the app. After install, you will be asked to enter your email id within the app itself and BlackBerry will email you when you will be able to use the app. Also, if you are one among the 6 million people who signed up for BBM on you will be able to use the app instantly. I also assume that people who used the leaked APK (including me) will be able to use the app from today.

Though BlackBerry’s phones are not much in demand, their app is still one of the most awaited messaging apps among Android users. Before you place your hands on the app, have a look at our review of BBM for Android.

We’ll let you know when the app is live on Google Play store. Stay tuned.
