BlackBerry Messenger Beta for Android Available via Invitations, Requires Android 4.0+

The highly anticipated cross-platform messaging app from BlackBerry – the BBM is now available to testers via invitations from BlackBerry.

BlackBerry Messenger for Android and iOS was announced at BBLive with an estimated release in September. While the release date comes closer, BlackBerry has now released a beta version of the app to testers. While the app was seen running on a Samsung Galaxy S3 yesterday, some more pictures of the app have surfaced.

The beta version of the app can be obtained only via invites from the BlackBerry team if you are a developer and the app requires Android 4.0+ to run on an Android device.

We can expect the app to be released by the beginning of the next month, probably. Stay tuned for more updates.
