Verizon had promised Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for the Motorola Droid RAZR and would be rolling it out soon to the masses. However a few lucky users received the update during Christmas Over The Air (OTA). If you are not one among those lucky users who got their Christmas Present, here is how you can make yourself lucky.
XDA Senior Member spc_hicks09 grabbed the update and has uploaded it for other users to install it on their Motorola Droid RAZR. He has also provided detailed instructions on how to install the update on your device. Since this is an official Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update, you can be sure that there is nothing that wouldn’t work on your device. A completely stable and bug-free firmware is all that you get with this update.
But before you go ahead and install this update on your Droid RAZR, make sure you read this warning given by the developer:
CAUTION!!!!! AFTER INSTALLING THIS UPDATE, IT IS COMPLETELY IMPOSSIBLE TO GO BACK TO ICS!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!
This might prevent most of you from installing this update, but if you follow all the instructions carefully you will have a stable Jelly Bean firmware on your phone and will no longer need to wait for Verizon to roll it out to you.
To install Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean on your Motorola Droid RAZR, head over to this thread for instructions.
The developer has tried out this procedure himself and has also posted a video of Jelly Bean on the Droid RAZR.
