Jolla’s new OS – Sailfish has been in the news for quite a while and has some outstanding features. Though it has some great features, it will be difficult for the OS to make a stand for itself in the smartphone market dominated by iOS and Android and of course, Samsung’s Tizen which didn’t impress us much.
Sailfish OS has now been ported to the Nexus 4 as seen in the video below. Though the video does not show the OS in action, the initial setup is shown pretty well and it works flawlessly.
We can see that the hacker first flashed CM 10.1.3 zip file to the Nexus 4 first which might be the key to installing Sailfish OS. The zip file flashed in the next step is “sffe-lg-mako-cm.zip”.
The source zip files haven’t uploaded online yet but you can expect to see it anytime soon. Jolla has also announced that it will support Android phones which include Nexus 4, Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 to begin with.
Will you be one among those who will flash the Sailfish OS on your Nexus device?
