The LG Optimus G whose pictures were leaked previously and later was officially announced at the LG Newsroom has been announced officially in South Korea today. LG also announced that the hiigh-end device will go on sale next month.
The Optimus G which runs on a powerful Qualcomm’s quad core Snapdragon S4 will be shown tomorrow at New York and we will show you glimpses of the event tomorrow here at Hack My Android. The LG Optimus G will perhaps be the most powerful LG device in future considering its specifications. It comes with a 13 megapixels camera, though a few countries may get it with a 8 megapixel camera due to some supply issues. It has a 4.7 inches screen with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. The 2GB RAM is more than enough for quite a lot of apps to run easily in the background. One more reason why I would call it a must-buy phone is that it comes with 4G LTE support. Now, if you are capable of using this depending on your respective regions, go ahead and grab it next month and experience the data speed that this device can deliver.
One feature of this device that may disappoint you is that this device does not come with the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean firmware, instead it runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Does any other LG device run on Jelly Bean? No, at the moment none of the device from LG has an official 4.1 update. Don’t you think LG should have provided you with Jelly Bean on this phone? Never mind, I’m pretty sure they would serve you with an OTA update in the coming months after they see a good response from the sales of this device.
According to Engadget, the device would cost $895 USD which seems to be a pretty high price though it might vary for different countries. What’s your take on this folks?
