The Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus were recently spotted in numerous images making the rounds on the internet. It seems like Motorola is gearing up for releasing the next iteration of the Moto G series and it looks like it’s going to be a whole lot similar to the Moto G4/G4 Plus. Even with the release of the Moto M, Motorola seems to have no plans of slowing down. After the press release image being leaked by a Weibo user, somebody attempted to sell the device online, making images of the device available for the world to see.
In the specification side of things, the Moto G5/G5 Plus seems to be using a octa-core 2GHz processor along with 4GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It also rocks a Adreno 506 GPU, which confirms the presence of the Snapdragon 625 chipset. It is expected to have a 5.5 inch 1080p (403PPI) display similar it’s predecessor, along with 3100 mAh battery and Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. The back camera is rated at 13MP while the front facing camera is 5MP. There is also a fingerprint sensor on the front of the device, similar to it’s predecessor.
Motorola still seems to be targeting the budget price range. The Moto G5 is expected to be priced around $249 (Rs.13000) and the Moto G5 Plus around $299 (Rs.15000). No word on which stores it’ll be hitting just yet. This seems like an odd move on Lenovo’s part as the Moto G5/G5 Plus seems to have arguably better specifications than the Moto M, the company’s current flagship.
The Moto G5/G5 Plus is expected to be unveiled in the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2017 (MWC 2017).
