Motorola hasn’t made a very good mark in Europe and the RAZR i is yet another attempt of Motorola to be back in the Market. Motorola has announced the RAZR i which is powered by an Intel mobile processor which explains the “i” in the name of the device. The RAZR i had been announced at an even in London this morning.
The Motorola RAZR i is a new Full screen smartphone with Super AMOLED Advanced 4.3-inch display that spans from edge-to-edge with virtually no border. The Intel Atom processor is clocked at 2GHz frequency and is claimed to be 40% more efficient than iPhone 4S by Motorola. The Camera button is located on the side which lets you launch Camera within less than 2 seconds, thanks to the Intel Atom Processor. The camera also has multi-shot mode lets you snap 10 pictures in less than a second.
The RAZR i would run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, no Jelly Bean with the release but Motorola says that the phone is upgradable to Jelly Bean! That confuses us, did they mean they will push an OTA update or did they mean that it just supports further updates? It is down to your interpretation.
The RAZR i will be powered by a 2,000mAh battery and has a Kevlar coating on the back which will perhaps protect your phone from being damaged in rain or by spills of coffee over it.
A few other features which the RAZR i boasts of:
When you set up the SMARTACTIONS™ battery savings rule your phone will automatically adjust to squeeze more out of each charge. Whether you want to maximize your last ounce of power, or prevent your phone from ringing during a meeting, SMARTACTIONS will automatically trigger specific actions. Motorola’s exclusive Guide Me app comes preloaded with interactive, swipe-by-swipe tutorials for tons of features – no instruction manual required. Also unique to Motorola, the interactive Circles Widget allows quick access to notifications, weather, time and more.
Availability and pricing
Motorola RAZR i will be available in black beginning in October in select European and Latin American markets including the U.K., France, Germany, Argentina, Brazil and Mexico with more to be announced. A stand out white version will also be coming to select markets. Pricing and availability will vary by country, so please visit www.motorola.com/razri for the latest information.
