We have been publishing news about ASUS pushing out OTA updates for Transformer Prime and later for the Transformer Pad Infinity. These OTA updates were Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean updates which were available for all devices that had their bootloaders unlocked. So if you had hacked your tablets, you had a tough luck in the past, but not anymore. ASUS loves its customers and now lets you download the firmware from their official website and flash it to your device.
Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean firmware is available for Transformer Prime TF201 and Transformer Pad TF700 on ASUS website, the links to which are present at the end of the post. In case you had unlocked the bootloader or somehow missed the OTA update, you can flash these firmwares just like any custom ROM and get the best of Jelly Bean, the official one for your device.
These downloads will also be helpful for the Android development community and folks at XDA-Developers forums as they will now be able to compile more stable ROMs using these official sources. Perhaps, they may hack the official firmware, just like how they did for the Trasformer TF300T.
Irrespective of your regions, these ROMs are available for both US and World Wide versions of the device. Installation of this ROM is simple. Download the ROM and unzip the package to get yet another zip file. Place the zip file to your external memory and flash it via any custom recovery and your device should be running on Android 4.1,1 Jelly Bean firmware -the official one.
Please make sure you backup data on your device as you may need to wipe data if you are moving to the stock ROM for a custom one. If you have root access on your device, it will be lost and you will have to root the stock firmware again.
