Samsung To Skip Android 4.2.2 For the Galaxy Note 2

Telstra, an Australian carrier has  put up a rather shocking bit of news as a part of the update strategy regarding it’s Samsung handsets. An excerpt from the carrier’s support page has confirmed promised updates to a few handsets while Android 4.2.2 for the Galaxy Note 2 will be a straight no with plans for having the handset updated to the next major Android release! Yes! Although put up on the support page of a region specific carrier, this just seems to be the same bit of fate for all the devices worldwide and Samsung will get the device updated to the next major Android release instead of the interim Android 4.2.2 over the currently running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean firmware.

Going by the previously update chart from Samsung we already have the Galaxy Note 2 rated to be healthier enough to live through Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie but with the latter being all set for a Google I/O 2014 debut, it seems sensible enough for the Galaxy Note 2 to be having an Android 4.3 release in tow for itself. That might seems a bit of joy for the owners of the phablet but you gotta take that happiness with a sour pinch of salt to taste as no scheduling has been proposed for the same till now!
