The Sony Xperia Z1 has a younger sibling – the Xperia Z1f which is also known as the Sony Xperia Z1 mini or the Honami mini if you were to call it by its codename. After too many leaks, the device has now been made official by Sony and NTT DoCoMo in Japan.
The Sony Xepria Z1f look almost similar to its sibling except for a smaller 4.3 inch screen. If you don’t really like a bigger smartphone, this one is a small beast that would perform extremely well on a Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.2GHz and 2GB RAM. The Xperia Z1f is not yet another mid-range phone. it is water-resistant and sports a 4.3-inch 720p display which is 341 ppi.
Here is a quick rundown of the specs:
- 4.3-inch 720p X-Reality Triluminos display
- 2.2GHz Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor
- 2GB RAM
- 16GB internal storage/micro SD card slot
- 20.7/2.2MP camera
- 2,300mAh battery
- Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean
- Dimensions: 127mm × 65mm, 9.4mm thick
- Water/dust proof
While the device comes with Android 4.2.2, you can surely expect an official 4.3 update soon after its launch in December in Japan. The official update for the Xperia Z1 can also be easily ported to the Xperia Z1f if the device gets some developer love.
As of now, there is no information about the launch of the device in other markets. It does depend on the response that Sony gets in Japan. Connect with us on Facebook or Twitter to stay update. Make sure you check out some more subscription options that suit your reading needs.
