Sony Xperia Z Ultra Now Available As a Google Play Edition, Starts at $649

While most OEMs have launched a Google Play Edition of their flagship device, Sony is not left behind in the race. Sony’s latest and most powerful phablet is available via the Play Store as a Google Play Edition for $649 running pure stock Android 4.4 KitKat.

After HTC One, Samsung Galaxy S4, LG G Pad 8.3, we finally have a Google Play Edition of the Sony Xperia Z Ultra that has a 6.4-inch display and powered with Snapdragon 800. It is slim and measures only 6.5 mm along its bodyline. It is one of the most powerful Sony device with the processor clocked at 2.2 GHz frequency. The screen has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 which brings the pixel density to 342 ppi. It has a 8 MP rear shooter with EXMOR sensor and a front 2 MP camera.

The device comes with 16 GB internal storage which can be expanded via a SD card slot. It will also support 4G LTE connectivity. Needless to mention, the device runs Google’s pure Android 4.4 KitKat OS which should make the device smoother than it already is on the stock Sony Firmware.
