After a recent launch of the Zenfone Max, ASUS has launched yet another powerhouse and calls it the new Zenfone Max ZC550KL. ASUS has launched it’s advanced Zenfone Max ZC550KL in 2GB and 3 GB variants a week ago and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this device and here is what I felt after using it for a week.
The box contains a charging cable along with a USB OTG cable that you can use to charge any other device – more on this in the battery section below. The adapter is a 1.5A one which is not really sufficient to charge the 5000 mAh battery quickly so I’d suggest you buy a 2A charger separately if you’re an impatient creature like me.
Zenfone Max Build Quality
The build of this phone is similar to the other ASUS phones with curvy edges except a metal strip that runs through the perimeter of the phone.
The interesting part in the build back of the phone has been modified with the introduction of a rough surface which provides grip while holding the phone. This is available in 3 different colors which gives the phone a very good and stylish look.
The ASUS has been equipped with a 13 Megapixel rear camera and 5 Megapixel front camera featuring Laser Auto Focus technology. The beautification mode works really well and clicks some stunning images with skin and eye enhancement features
User Interface & Touch Screen
The Zenfone has the latest version of Android OS – Android M 6.0.1 and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 Octa-Core processor. The touch screen quality is good but can be improved since the touch experience might not be the best in the category.
This is the major attraction for a buyer who minds charging his phone over and over again. The battery is the USP with five battery modes and two smart switches that users can configure to make their own battery optimization settings and help the battery last even longer. Zenfone Max is packed with a powerful 5000 mAh battery which can last up to 2 days without charging. The lithium-polymer battery, when fully charged, provides 914.4 hours of standby time or 37.5 hours of 3G talk time or 32.5 hours of Wi-Fi web browsing or 72.9 hours of music playback or 22.6 hours of video playback.
The phone can also be used as a “power bank” to charge another phone with the help of the OTG cable. But why would one do that when the Zenfone itself holds good charge? Nevertheless, it is an added feature which cannot be ignored completely.
The phone is very much cost-effective. The 2GB variant has been launched at Rs. 9,999 while the 3 GB variant is available at Rs.12,999. The phone can be purchased online or can be bought at one of the ASUS exclusive stores. Not expensive at all , isn’t it ?
Overall , ASUS Zenphone max is an amazing product and the variants are extremely economical. I would definitely recommend it.
